Inspire Your Stay at The Hotel Telluride with a Spa and Wellness Service!
Spa and wellness services at The Hotel Telluride are designed for complete relaxation and rejuvenation of your body, mind, and spirit. Our services and products are inspired by nature and the healing opportunities therein. Our signature massage oil is seasonally produced from wild-sourced plants found in the San Miguel Mountains. This medicinal herbal massage oil in combination with therapeutic massage produces a soothing, calming effect on the nervous system, an increase in overall circulation, an increase in endorphins, and a balancing of the endocrine system; creating overall effects of good health and well-being.

Our signature therapeutic massage is completely customized for areas of concern, levels of pressure, and technique. Our high frequency services, such as the gemstone balancing, offer a combination of the best products, therapists, and service protocols. Our spa and wellness therapists are certified, experienced and sincerely caring; striving toward providing exceptional guest service and a sanctuary of well-being for our guests.

Spa Services at The Hotel Telluride feature two spa service rooms, a fitness center with private steamshower; and two outdoor hottubs. Our spa service rooms are quietly secluded one each on the first and third floors of the hotel; equipped for yoga therapy, massage, facials and more. Please book your appointment in advance by contacting caycee@inspirespas.com or through The Hotel Telluride front desk.

History & Benefits of Massage by Caycee Ames, Director of Spa & Wellness
The history of healing touch dates back thousands of years and is evident in many cultures. Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine are both over 5,000 years old and work by balancing the elements within the body through herbs, healing foods, and touch. The father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, is known to have described methods and benefits of massage, lending the term "anatripsis" which means to massage towards the heart.
More recently we have seen a revival in alternative medicine and a merging of modern medicine with alternative and spa therapies such as acupuncture, yoga, and massage therapy. The many benefits of massage are being more and more frequently documented, and we are seeing a greater number of massage-goers who testify to the healing power of touch and especially that of massage therapy.

Massage therapy may be a perfect elixir for good health, as it provides an opportunity for being completely aware and in the moment; an integration of body and mind. By producing a meditative state or heightened awareness of living in the present moment, massage can provide emotional and spiritual balance, bringing with it true relaxation and peace. Our goal at Inspire Spas is to not only to bring the best the industry has to offer, as far as therapists, ingredients, and treatment modalities, but to also provide this truly authentic healing experience.

The Benefits of Massage from  Associated Bodywork Magazine

- Increases circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs.

- Stimulates the flow of lymph, the body's natural defense system, against toxic invaders. For example, in breast cancer patients, massage has been shown to increase the cells that fight cancer.

- Increased circulation of blood and lymph systems improves the condition of the body's largest organ - the skin.

- Relaxes and softens injured and overused muscles

- Reduces spasms and cramping

- Increases joint flexibility.

- Reduces recovery time, helps prepare for strenuous workouts and eliminates subsequent pains of the athlete at any level.

- Releases endorphins - the body's natural painkiller - and is being used in chronic illness, injury and recovery from surgery to control and relieve pain.

- Reduces post-surgery adhesions and edema and can be used to reduce and realign scar tissue after healing has occurred.

- Improves range-of-motion and decreases discomfort for patients with low back pain.

- Relieves pain for migraine sufferers and decreases the need for medication.

- Provides exercise and stretching for atrophied muscles and reduces shortening of the muscles for those with restricted range of motion.

- Assists with shorter labor for expectant mothers, as well as less need for medication, less depression and anxiety, and shorter hospital stays.

Spa Guidelines:
Please arrive 5 minutes early for your service in order to ensure you receive the full length of your treatment. Our treatment rooms are located one each on the first and third floors of the hotel, about halfway down the main hall. If you are unsure as to the location of your treatment, please contact the front desk and they will be happy to help. You may arrive in robe and slippers (provided by the hotel in your room) or simply arrive in comfortable clothing. If you would like to enjoy the use of our steam shower or outdoor hot tubs please visit our fitness center before or after your service. The fitness center is located on the first floor of the hotel. We recommend drinking a few extra glasses of water after your service. One of the benefits of massage is an overall gentle detoxification of the body and drinking water supports this process.
If you will be showering after your service, we recommend allowing the oils and products to remain on the skin as long as possible and thus do not recommend the use of soaps or washes in order to remove the product.
During the spa service intake process your therapist will ask you a few questions with regard to your overall health and goals for your service. Please take this time to communicate any possible concerns or questions about your service.
